- Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Sandy brown hair, hazel eyes. Sekelsky has burn scars on both arms. His nickname is Ed.
- Details of Disappearance:
- Ed Sekelsky vanished from his home in Taylor, Pennsylvania on January 26, 1998. His neighbor found his trailer empty, but his truck was still parked outside. His belongings were neatly packed in boxes with goodbye notes.
Sekelsky had done various jobs and liked driving his truck, so his sister was puzzled he left it. He had little money and some notes suggested he might have planned to take his own life.
A year later, someone using Sekelsky’s name and Social Security number reported a robbery in Hawaii. It’s unclear if this was actually him, as the victim was homeless and had no contact information. The Hawaii health club where he received treatment couldn’t share details due to privacy rules.
Police don’t know what happened to Sekelsky. He was a Vietnam veteran struggling with work and family problems before he disappeared. His case remains a mystery.
