- Allen disappeared from her El Paso, Texas apartment on January 20, 1980. She was an apartment manager and talked to her sister on the phone around 10:30-11:00 AM that morning. She may have had breakfast with a man she’d recently dated. Then, she vanished without a trace, leaving no note or travel plans.
Four days later, her white 1971 Ford Thunderbird was found in California. Gas receipts inside the car showed someone had used her dead husband’s credit card, forging his signature, to fill up the tank in New Mexico and Arizona.
Allen had four sons; sadly, three have since passed away. Her sister and one son are still alive and searching for answers. Police think she was kidnapped, but there’s not much evidence to help them solve the case.
