- Apatiki disappeared in Nome, Alaska on October 5, 2004. He’d gone there from another island to see his pregnant girlfriend. He was supposed to go home in a few days but never did. His family thinks something bad happened to him.
Around the same time, and since the 1960s, about 20 other Native Alaskans have disappeared or died mysteriously in the Nome area. The police looked into these cases, but they don’t think one person was responsible for all of them.
