- On August 19, 1973, Ewalt disappeared. She was last seen at a bar in Forsyth, Montana, around 11 pm. She told a friend she was going to see her musician brother, but she never showed up.
She left behind everything: her car, her belongings, her paycheck, and most importantly, her three sons. She also had money in a trust fund and bank accounts, but never touched it after she vanished. She was getting a divorce and worked as a waitress.
Because she left everything behind and it’s out of character for her to just disappear, her family thinks something bad happened to her. The police haven’t solved the mystery of what happened to Ewalt.
