She has a mole on her right breast and a discoloration on her left arm. Francheska is of Puerto Rican descent.
- Details of Disappearance:
- Francheska, 12, ran away from home in Paterson, New Jersey on June 9, 2000. Her twin sister, Misheila, said Francheska went to a store but never arrived. Francheska later called Misheila, saying she was with friends. That was the last time anyone heard from her.
Francheska had mentioned wanting to go to a parade in Manhattan, and friends said she was secretly dating a 22-year-old man. A few days later, her clothes (no shoes) were found near her home.
Six weeks later, Misheila also disappeared, leaving a note blaming their mother for not liking their stepfather and accusing her of having an affair. Their mother denied this.
There are several theories: the twins ran away together, maybe to New York City; they were victims of human trafficking; or their stepfather, Hipolito Miguel Corniel, was involved. Corniel was later convicted of killing someone else and served 17 years in prison. The girls’ brother suspects one of them was pregnant by Corniel, but there’s no proof.
The case remains unsolved, and many consider it a runaway case, though the circumstances are very suspicious.
