Details of Disappearance:
On December 21, 1983, fisherman Damato disappeared in San Francisco. He likely went out on his boat, the *Lillian D.*, to check his fishing equipment and look for herring, since the fishing season was about to start. His boat was found empty and drifting near Yerba Buena Island and the Bay Bridge at 1:00 a.m. that same day. The boat’s engine was off, but the radar and other electronics were on. Damato is believed to have fallen overboard and drowned, but his body was never found.
