On February 7, 1999, around 9:00 a.m., Mazzella was last seen at his apartment on Oak Street in Westerly, Rhode Island. He vanished without a trace. His car was parked outside, and all his belongings were still in his apartment. There was nothing to suggest what happened to him. The case is still a mystery.
