Details of Disappearance:
Conklin disappeared in Tucson, Arizona, sometime in the summer of 1993. His young son last saw him in June or July that year. Then, he vanished.

Three years later, police received a tip that Conklin’s roommate, Jeffrey Davis, had killed him. Davis was arrested in 1997. Police think Davis shot Conklin in the back during an argument about money or drugs.

At Davis’s trial in 1998, several people testified against him. Two said they helped Davis bury Conklin’s body, and another said Davis admitted to moving the body later. Even without finding Conklin’s body, the jury quickly found Davis guilty of murder. Police searched for the body in the Silver Bell Mountains, but were unsuccessful. Because of the evidence and the witnesses, everyone believes Conklin was murdered.
