Details of Disappearance:
Gary McCullough disappeared in May 1999. He was last seen leaving for Diamond, Missouri, to buy a rooster. His truck was found abandoned a few days later.

Gary and his wife Sandra were having serious marital problems. He was planning a divorce, saying Sandra had forged checks and even tried to shoot him (though he didn’t report the shooting to police). Sandra, who was having an affair with Kristopher Klemp, didn’t report Gary missing for two days. She also denied their marital problems and refused to cooperate with the police. Klemp moved in with Sandra shortly after Gary vanished, and was even briefly charged with conspiracy to murder Gary (though the charges were dropped).

Years later, Gary’s stepdaughter, Lena Chapin, told Gary’s brother that Sandra had killed Gary and made her help dispose of the body. Lena recorded this confession. However, she later refused to cooperate with the police. Curiously, Lena herself disappeared in 2006 and remains missing.

Gary’s daughters sued Sandra, Klemp, and others in 2012, claiming they conspired to murder Gary. They won a $7 million judgment. While Lena’s statement wasn’t used in court, her sister confirmed a similar story. Sandra and Klemp later divorced.

Both Gary and Lena’s disappearances are unsolved, but police suspect foul play in both cases.
