Details of Disappearance:
On May 1, 1947, 8-year-old Georgia went missing near her home in rural Wisconsin. After being dropped off from school by a neighbor, she was seen walking up her driveway with a bundle of mail. She never made it home.

Witnesses saw a dark-colored 1936 Ford driven by a blond man around the same time. This man is the main suspect, but he was never identified. Other witnesses reported seeing a girl who looked like Georgia struggling in a similar car.

Initially, police thought it was a kidnapping for ransom, but no ransom was ever demanded. They now believe Georgia was abducted by a sexual predator. Before she disappeared, Georgia had expressed fear of being kidnapped.

Several people confessed to Georgia’s murder over the years, including Buford Sennett, a convicted rapist and murderer. Sennett claimed she accidentally overdosed on sleeping pills, but his confession was later retracted, and no evidence linked him to the crime. Another suspect, Edward Gein, a notorious murderer known for his gruesome crimes, was also considered, but he didn’t fit the description of the abductor and his known victims were different.

Despite numerous leads and confessions, Georgia’s disappearance remains a mystery. Neither she nor the mail she carried were ever found.
