Details of Disappearance:
On September 28th, 2007, Furch disappeared after leaving her job at a General Motors plant in Arlington, Texas. When her family couldn’t reach her on October 1st, they found her Fort Worth apartment empty. Her car, a gold Mazda Millenia (license plate L69 SJL), was gone. The apartment was strangely clean, but police found blood, bloodstained items (towels, clothes, etc.), and cleaning supplies in a nearby dumpster. It looked like someone had tried to cover up a violent attack.

A few days later, her burned-out car was found in Dallas. Police then arrested Rodney Owens, a former neighbor with a criminal history, because they had his fingerprints and DNA at the scene. Owens was convicted of Furch’s murder in 2008 and sentenced to life in prison. He later received an additional 99-year sentence for another crime. Police believe Owens attacked Furch at or near her apartment. Furch was a long-time resident of her apartment and had a close relationship with her family, making her disappearance even more suspicious.
