- Details of Disappearance:
- On June 9, 1984, Gafforio went out drinking on Staten Island. He was last seen leaving a bar called the Spa Lounge around 4:00 a.m. He disappeared and was reported missing later that day at 7:00 p.m.
Police consider Andre Rand a possible suspect. Rand was a convicted child sex offender with mental disabilities who lived on the same street as Gafforio. Rand is also linked to other disappearances on Staten Island. He was convicted of kidnapping and was a suspect in several murders, though he wasn’t convicted of all of them. One of his victims, a young girl, was murdered near where Rand lived.
While Rand is a suspect in Gafforio’s disappearance, it hasn’t been proven he was involved. Gafforio’s case is still unsolved, and investigators believe something bad happened to him.
