Details of Disappearance:
In May 1973, a promising college student named Baltimore disappeared from East Lansing, Michigan. He was a junior at Michigan State University, studying to be a social worker, and was a successful student and musician. His car was found at home, but his keys, money, and other belongings were left behind.

Baltimore had previously reported a robbery where he was attacked and robbed. A suspect, Roy Davis, was arrested, but Baltimore missed a court hearing, and then later testified. He told his family Davis had threatened him, and the whole experience was very stressful. Importantly, Baltimore disappeared two days before Davis’s court date, and neighbors reported seeing Davis at Baltimore’s apartment that day. Davis was convicted of assault, but never charged with Baltimore’s disappearance, claiming an alibi supported by his mother.

Because Baltimore left behind his possessions and was a dedicated student who stayed in close contact with his family, his disappearance is now considered suspicious. While police initially thought he might have gone into hiding to avoid testifying, the decades that have passed make this explanation unlikely. His family believes foul play was involved, and the case remains unsolved.
