- Allen disappeared on November 23, 2006, from his home in Cleveland, Ohio. Nobody noticed he was missing until December 12th, when his van was found in New Mexico. His former tenant, Terry White, was driving the van. White had used Allen’s credit cards to get there.
Police stopped White at a gas station after employees reported suspicious activity. The van contained a rifle and bloodstains. A note at Allen’s house said he was going on a trip, but it’s unclear if he wrote it.
Allen had a troubled past: his ex-wife said he was abusive, and he was accused of stealing money from his brother. Despite this, most people knew him as a quiet, private person.
White was jailed for having the gun and using Allen’s credit cards, but he was never charged with Allen’s disappearance. Although Allen’s body was never found, police believe he was murdered.
