- Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Red hair, blue or brown eyes. Simmons may use the aliases Jack Jason Red and/or Jason Simmons. His nickname is Red. Simmons has a scar on his right arm. His hair was long at the time of his disappearance.

- Simmons vanished from Salt Lake City, Utah sometime around spring 1994 – either April 14th or May 7th. Nobody has seen or heard from him since.
Before he disappeared, Simmons lived in Utah after moving from Idaho in 1988. He shared an apartment with a roommate and had a serious drug problem, using cocaine and meth.
A month before he vanished, he was attacked and hit in the head with a hammer. This might have been because of his drug use. The attack put him in the hospital, and he lost his memory (amnesia) for a while. He was still recovering from this injury when he disappeared, and had only recently returned to work.
His family thinks someone harmed him, maybe because he owed money from drugs, but there’s not much evidence to help solve the mystery. The case is still open.
