Details of Disappearance:
Jackie and Thomas Hawks disappeared on November 15, 2004, from Newport Beach, California. They were last seen driving their silver Honda CRV. They owned a large houseboat, the “Well Deserved,” and lived on it. They were in regular contact with family and friends.

Their disappearance was noticed when family hadn’t heard from them for days. Their boat was found abandoned, but their belongings were still on board, strangely disorganized. Their small boat for going ashore was left neatly tied up. This was unusual for the meticulously organized couple.

They had recently sold the houseboat for $400,000 cash, planning to buy a smaller boat and a house closer to family. This sale and the cash payment became suspicious.

Their car was later found in Mexico. The houseboat buyer, Skylar Deleon, was initially arrested for money laundering, but later charged with their murder along with his wife, Jennifer, and three others.

Evidence suggested the couple were killed to steal their boat and money. Court documents indicated they were attacked on their boat, bound, and thrown overboard alive. The sale of the boat was fraudulent.

Deleon had a history of violence, including another unrelated murder. His wife, Jennifer, was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. The other accomplices received various sentences.

Jackie and Thomas’s bodies have never been found. The case strongly suggests they were murdered as part of a plot to steal their assets.
