Details of Disappearance:
In 1983, Sanchez lived in Miami and told his family he was bringing appliances to Colombia via the Bahamas. He actually was smuggling drugs. He and his friend Gary Weaver went to the Bahamas on December 4th, 1983, and were last seen in Nassau on December 9th. Both disappeared.

After they vanished, Sanchez’s family was threatened; they were told that if they kept looking for him, his daughter and other family members would be killed. Because of this threat, the family stopped searching until 2005.

Police think Sanchez and Weaver were murdered on Andros Island in the Bahamas, maybe by being thrown from a plane. No one has been arrested, and the case is still unsolved. Both Bahamian and Florida police are working on it.
