- Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Blond/light brown hair, blue eyes. Stanley has a fair complexion. He has a surgical scar on the left side of his body due to a hernia or appendectomy operation. Stanley’s left arm was previously fractured. He wore a partial upper denture plate at the time of his 1974 disappearance. Stanley’s nicknames are Tommy and Tom.
- Details of Disappearance:
- In September 1974, Stanley suddenly told his family he was in trouble and had to leave Ohio immediately, saying he could never come back. He said he was going to Florida. He disappeared.
A few days later, his green 1969 Fiat was found abandoned on I-95 in North Carolina. His wallet, clothes, and everything else were still inside the car, even the keys were in the ignition. There were no signs of violence. Police thought the car had been there for at least two days. The car had a broken radiator hose.
Stanley’s family never reported him missing because they were afraid it would make things worse for him. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since. His Social Security number hasn’t been used since 1974, and he was officially declared dead in 1981.
