- On February 22, 1999, a water company worker named Bierman called in sick in Felton, California. His truck was found abandoned near the San Lorenzo River, parked by a landslide where he’d recently worked. The keys were in the ignition, and notes about his job were on the dashboard. Bierman was gone.
He lived alone, and nobody reported him missing for days. He’d left groceries at home, bought a few days earlier. Police think he might have slipped in the mud near the river and fallen in, but searches found nothing. Bierman vanished without a trace and his disappearance remains a mystery.
