- Clement disappeared from her home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on April 7, 1963 (the day after Easter). She’d asked her husband (who she was separated from) to watch their kids while she went job hunting. He picked up the kids, but never saw or heard from Clement again.
A week later, a neighbor told Clement’s brother she was missing. Her brother found her house locked, but inside, a basket of laundry was mildewed. Everything seemed to be there except her Easter outfit and her bedspread. Clement was a writer, and her disappearance remains a mystery.
