- Details of Disappearance:
- In Jacksonville, Florida, on July 21, 1974, Jean disappeared. She’d gone to a nearby store for cigarettes and then to an arcade. While at the arcade, a man with Elvis-style hair, riding a bike, forced her into a bathroom. She came out crying, and then left with the man. She was never seen again.
That same year, several other young girls (ages 6-12) vanished in Jacksonville. Two of them, Virginia and Rebecca, were later found dead. Virginia was found buried and had been shot; Rebecca’s remains were found washed ashore. Jean, and two other sisters, Annette and Mylette Anderson, have never been found.
Police don’t think all the disappearances are connected because they happened in different parts of the city. Jean was a good student and in the Brownies. Her case remains unsolved, and her family still hopes she’s alive.
