- On May 14, 1991, a woman named Downs called her mom from a payphone in Hemet, California. She said she was with friends and would be home later than expected. That was the last time anyone heard from her.
Police think something bad happened to her. Her apartment was untouched, and she left her last paycheck at work (Carl’s Jr. in Bermuda Dunes). Her mom says she was a reliable person who wouldn’t just disappear. The San Jacinto police are still trying to find out what happened to her.
