- On May 4th, 2008, Ashley Rivkin left a voicemail for a friend. That was the last time anyone heard from her. Two days later, police found the silver BMW she was driving abandoned at the Winner’s Circle Bar and Grill in Gastonia, North Carolina. Her purse, license, and makeup were in the car, but she was gone. The sunroof was open.
Rivkin wasn’t a regular at the bar and didn’t sign in that day. She was unemployed at the time, but had worked as a hairdresser and songwriter. She had a son and was close to her family, even though she struggled with substance abuse. It was unusual for her to disappear without telling anyone.
She split her time living with a friend in Kings Mountain and with her parents near Bessemer City, North Carolina. She’d also lived in Florida and Tennessee.
The mystery of what happened to Ashley Rivkin remains unsolved.
