- Jenny and Stephen Reisberg, newlyweds from Boston, disappeared in 1990. They left for a hiking trip in the Tetons, then went to San Francisco and Kauai, Hawaii. They planned to hike the difficult Mount Waialeale in Kauai, but were last seen at a park museum after their planned return date.
The last person to see them said they were determined to hike the mountain, even though he warned them about its dangers. Their rental car was found packed for their trip, but only a scarf was discovered during the search. A possible moan from a woman was reported nearby, but it’s unconfirmed.
The area was dangerous; illegal marijuana farms were present, and two hikers had been killed there that year. Investigators aren’t sure if they had an accident or were victims of foul play.
