Details of Disappearance:
On January 3, 2018, Hamby disappeared. She’d been in a drug detox program in Haleyville, Alabama, but left early with a friend after an argument. Her friend dropped her off at a house in Hackleburg.

That morning, around 6 a.m., there was an argument at the house, and Hamby went outside to watch the sunrise. It was freezing—only six degrees—and she wasn’t wearing a coat. She texted and called a man named Eric Edwards shortly after, saying things like, “They ain’t gonna shoot me for walking,” but then vanished.

Police have questioned the people who were with her that morning. They gave conflicting stories and police have found no sign Hamby ever left the area. They’ve searched the area thoroughly and even given lie detector tests, but no one has been arrested.

Hamby had three young children who lived with their grandparents. Her parents say she was a good mom who was getting help for her drug addiction. No one knows for sure what happened to her.
