Details of Disappearance:
In Honolulu, Hawaii, on February 11, 1988, 8-year-old Jie Zhao disappeared. She was selling raffle tickets for her school fundraiser near her home on Nuuanu Avenue. She left around 4:45 pm, promising to be back by 6:00 pm. Witnesses saw her talking to people near a 7-Eleven, and some think she might have gotten into an older Chevrolet car (a 1955, 1956, or 1957 model).

Jie never came home. Her family and police searched, but she was never found. Investigators believe she was kidnapped and that something bad happened to her. Police have sketches of a man who might be connected, but they haven’t been able to identify him.

Jie had moved to the US from China three years earlier. Her family has kept their phone number the same since 1988, hoping she might contact them someday. Her disappearance remains a mystery.
