- On April 25, 1983, Mason disappeared from Highland, Michigan. She went to a nearby store and never came back. This was very unusual because she was a college student and a loving mother who would never leave her son without a word.
A person saw a man talking to Mason near the store, but police never found out who he was. Mason also had a violent ex-boyfriend who had kidnapped and badly hurt her shortly before she vanished. Even though he was a likely suspect, police never charged him with anything, and the case remains a mystery.
