- Details of Disappearance:
- On August 31, 1999, Thompson told his dad he was going on a long hike – the Pacific Crest Trail, from Oregon to Mexico. He said he’d be gone for a couple of months and wouldn’t be in touch. He never contacted his family again.
After several months, his dad got worried and started looking for him. Police in New York and Oregon searched, but they couldn’t find Thompson. He’s been missing ever since, and nobody knows what happened to him. The case is still unsolved.
