- Butler disappeared from the streets of Santa Monica, California around 1994. Nobody has heard from him since. When his father died in 1999 and left him a lot of money, his family couldn’t find him to tell him. That’s when they reported him missing.
Before he vanished, Butler had been in mental hospitals in California and Oregon. He also tried to go to Belgium in 1984 but was sent back because of his mental health.
His brother reported him missing, but the brother has since passed away. Police have lost touch with Butler’s other family, so they can’t use DNA to identify any unknown bodies. They do have his fingerprints, though.
The mystery of what happened to Butler remains unsolved.
