Details of Disappearance:
In 1991, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, a man named Iverson disappeared. He lived with his girlfriend/ex-wife, Kathy Munro. They had a complicated relationship, divorcing soon after marrying in 1987, with Iverson giving Munro all his assets.

On January 4th, a machinist from Las Vegas, Jack Weber, was at their house. Munro said Weber was there to deliver a project, and she paid him $1,000. After Iverson arrived, Munro fell asleep. She woke up to Weber, armed and wearing gloves, claiming he had Iverson tied up in his van. He robbed Munro of $4,000 in cash and a $2,500 check (Munro intentionally made mistakes on the check to show she was forced). She escaped and called the police, but Iverson, Weber, and the van were gone.

Iverson’s home showed some damage and a cleaned-up bloodstain of unknown origin. Weber eventually contacted his wife, telling her where to find his van. He turned himself in months later, charged with kidnapping and robbery.

Weber’s story differed from Munro’s. He claimed Iverson owed him money for a special gun he’d built, and that Munro and Iverson set him up. He said he and Iverson went to the van to show the gun to a potential buyer; Iverson then left with the gun and a box from his garage. According to Weber, they ended up driving to Bullhead City, testing the gun, and then planned to see a lawyer in Phoenix. Weber claimed Iverson never showed up for the meeting and then the gun disappeared, leading him to believe he’d been tricked.

The police had little evidence besides Munro’s account, which was questionable as she failed a lie detector test (though she claimed it was due to medication). The case against Weber was dropped. Munro quickly moved to California after the disappearance.

Iverson’s family suspected Munro. Iverson had financial and legal problems, including tax issues and a business audit. He was also known for having a volatile personality, telling tall tales (including falsely claiming to have attended MIT), and holding strong prejudices.

Many believe Iverson faked his own kidnapping to escape his troubles, but his disappearance remains a mystery. He has not been seen since 1991.
