- Details of Disappearance:
- On January 12, 1998, police detective Claypool went diving with friends off the coast of Florida. During a deep dive (245 feet) on a sunken ship, he had trouble controlling his buoyancy and started struggling. Two friends tried to help, but another diver had to swim to the surface to get help. Claypool never resurfaced. He’s been missing ever since and is believed to have drowned.
