- On October 24, 2021, Davis disappeared while camping near Covelo, California. He and his son were camping by the Eel River, close to Highway 162 and the 8-Mile Bridge. A big rainstorm flooded their campsite. Davis’s son went to the safety of their car, but Davis stayed behind to move their tent. He promised to meet his son at the car but never showed up.
