He has a red mole on the right side of his upper lip and a large surgical scar on the right side of his abdomen from a gallbladder operation. He is from Guatemala.
Details of Disappearance:: On July 30, 2015, Hernandez-Chij, a Guatemalan man, disappeared while illegally entering the U.S. He was with a smuggler (called a “coyote”) in the Arizona desert, near the Tohono O’Odham Reservation. He was about a two-day walk from Tucson. Hernandez-Chij told the smuggler he was too tired to continue and planned to surrender to immigration officials. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since, and it’s feared he may have died in the desert.
