- Details of Disappearance:
- On September 9, 1974, in El Paso, Texas, 4-year-old Joseph went missing while walking to his grandmother’s house. His parents were nearby—his mom washing the car, his dad inside—but they both mistakenly thought the other had him. Nobody has seen Joseph since.
Police investigated everyone, including his parents (who are now divorced) and neighbors, but found no one responsible. A search of the river behind their house also turned up nothing. A neighbor saw a blue Ford disappear around the same time as Joseph, but there’s no proof it’s connected.
Authorities think Joseph was kidnapped and murdered, and they have a suspect but can’t reveal their name yet. They presented the case to a grand jury, but the jury didn’t charge anyone. Because so much time has passed, it’s been hard to solve the case, but it remains open.
