Details of Disappearance:
Santi disappeared from Salt Lake City, Utah on January 22, 1977. The day before, he’d planned to buy $100,000 worth of coins from a stranger at a low price, and asked a friend to check them out. The deal fell through, but Santi later said it was back on. His friend warned him to be cautious.

Santi vanished without a trace. His relatives found his apartment empty, except for his shoes and a cigarette butt (he didn’t smoke) in an ashtray. $10,000 in cash and jewelry were gone, but his watch and cars remained.

Santi was a successful businessman, owning a hotel and theater, and involved in various ventures. But he was heavily in debt, facing IRS scrutiny and accusations of embezzlement. He was also due to testify against his brother in a huge stock fraud case.

People wondered if he ran away, but there’s no proof. His estranged wife believed he was kidnapped and murdered. After 17 months, he was declared legally dead. Sadly, his wife and daughter have since passed away, but a childhood friend continues to seek answers. The case remains a mystery.
