- Details of Disappearance:
- In July 2008, Clewley vanished from his secluded cabin near Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. His wife, who visited him infrequently, last saw him on July 10th. He loved hiking in the area.
When Clewley didn’t call his wife at their usual times on July 13th and 14th, she contacted the police. They found his cabin locked and empty. His dog, Chip, was also missing. Clewley’s van was discovered nearby, almost out of gas, unlocked, and with the keys inside – unusual for him.
Twenty days later, Chip returned to the cabin, surprisingly clean and well-cared for, suggesting someone may have looked after him.
Clewley was a successful engineer, a Navy veteran, and a father of five. Despite the investigation, his disappearance remains a mystery.
