Details of Disappearance:
On November 14, 1976, Juanita Oxenrider went out on the Patapsco River in Maryland with her husband, Donald, and a friend, Thomas Maynard. Their boat exploded and sank. Police arrived quickly, but found no one. When they raised the boat, there were no bodies. The cause of the explosion was a mystery.

Maynard had a criminal record and was out on bail for serious crimes. Shortly after the boat explosion, police searched his house and found a huge amount of stolen jewelry and valuables. They suspected Maynard faked his death to escape the law, but weren’t sure about Juanita and Donald.

Donald’s body was found months later, but it was too decomposed to know how he died. Juanita was never found. Maynard reappeared ten years later in Canada and was arrested. Juanita was declared legally dead before he turned himself in.

The whole story is strange and we don’t know for sure what happened to Juanita. It’s unclear if she died in the explosion or what happened to her.
