The car was damaged, wiped clean of fingerprints, but her purse was inside. Important keys were missing, but the purse held a receipt for a $20 apartment deposit.

Judith had been seeing another man, and argued with Tony about it, but it’s unclear if she was having an affair. The other man cooperated with police and was cleared. Judith had told friends she was leaving Tony and considering getting a gun.

Tony was a suspected mobster, nicknamed “Tony the Exterminator,” with Mafia connections through his pest control business. Tips suggested Judith’s body may have been destroyed in an auto wrecking yard or incinerated at a sanitation service run by a Mafia boss. Years later, Tony and his brothers were convicted of Mafia-related crimes, including attempted murder. Though he’s still alive and a prime suspect in Judith’s disappearance, no one has ever been charged. It’s believed she might have been killed because she knew about Tony’s criminal activities.
