Details of Disappearance:
Mero disappeared in McCloud, California, on February 15, 1997. She was last seen at the home of Ed Henline Sr. and his wife, where she’d previously lived with her boyfriend, Ed Henline Jr. No one reported her missing until October 1997. At first, people thought she ran away because she had a warrant for her arrest. But when she wasn’t found, police and her family worried.

Around the same time and place, a 17-year-old girl, Hannah Zaccaglini, also vanished. Both disappearances involved the Henlines. Police searched their home and questioned them. In 2012, the Henlines were charged with Hannah’s murder, but the charges were dropped in 2013 due to lack of evidence. However, police still consider them suspects in both disappearances. The Henlines were also accused of using Mero’s money after she disappeared and were arrested on drug charges in 1999. Both Mero’s and Hannah’s cases are still unsolved.
