Details of Disappearance:: Karina disappeared on July 18, 1998, around 1:00 a.m. in San Antonio, Texas. She left her apartment at Las Brisas Apartments to meet friends at another nearby apartment complex, but never arrived. She left her purse and belongings behind, and the front door unlocked, making it seem like she expected to be back soon. She was a middle school student who lived with her mom and brother, and had no history of running away. Her family was planning a vacation, and she was looking forward to it. While some think she ran away, it’s not clear what happened, and there’s a possibility something bad happened to her.
