- Details of Disappearance:
- Karl disappeared from his Houston, Texas office on August 5th. His employees reported him missing when he didn’t come to work. Nine days later, his truck was found abandoned in Houston; it looked like a fight had happened there.
Four months later, his estranged wife, Mariela, confessed to killing him with a toaster and dumping his body, the toaster, and a gun in the Trinity River. She said he’d visited her the day he disappeared. Police found some DNA evidence, but it wasn’t enough to keep the charges against Mariela, so they were dropped.
Karl’s body has never been found. He owned a fence company and two bars. Police think someone murdered him.
