- Haskell disappeared on the night of October 16, 2003, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She left her home around 10 pm, telling her husband she needed to unwind because she was stressed about money and her weight. He stayed home with their kids.
The next day, her husband found her minivan abandoned on a beach. Her purse, medication, and keys were locked inside, but one credit card was missing (though it was never used).
Her husband had filed for divorce a few months earlier, then withdrawn it, only to file again shortly after Haskell vanished. He claimed she was seeing other men and associating with unsavory people. He also said the police thought she’d left on her own, but the police deny that.
Police investigated but found no evidence she’d left town with anyone or committed suicide, despite her history of depression. The abandoned car and lack of other clues make her disappearance suspicious, and the case remains unsolved.
