Details of Disappearance:
Chetron, an experienced underwater photographer, vanished on March 16, 2007, while diving alone off the coast of Humboldt County, California. He went diving at Blunts Reef, about five miles from shore. Despite being a strong swimmer and a diver since 1986, he never resurfaced.

The Coast Guard found his boat, but Chetron was gone. His camera was on the boat, and the sea was calm that day. Even though the water was a bit chilly (55 degrees), he was properly dressed for diving. Because he was a very skilled diver and there’s no evidence of foul play, it’s believed he drowned accidentally. Chetron was a bright guy – he went to Harvard and Stanford after graduating from a prestigious high school.
