Details of Disappearance:
Kevin disappeared on March 30, 1997, from his family’s home on the Charleston Naval Weapons Station in Goose Creek, South Carolina. He was 13, a good student who loved basketball, and lived with his family (his dad was in the Navy).

That night, Kevin was playing video games. After his mom came home and went to bed, he said he’d stay up and play more. When they woke up, he was gone.

Two days later, his clothes were found scattered near a construction site, but there was no sign of him. Someone matching his description was seen walking nearby that afternoon, wearing only sneakers and shorts. This was unusual for Kevin; he always came home on time and never missed a meal.

His mom thinks he might have snuck out to meet friends, but none of them saw him. There was no sign of a struggle or forced entry at home.

In 2006, police reopened the case as a homicide, based on new evidence and tips. They searched for his body but didn’t find anything. They named Thomas McCardle, already in prison for robbery, as a suspect. Another man, Michael Moorcroft, claimed he and McCardle killed Kevin, but later said he lied. Police searched Moorcroft’s old home based on a cadaver dog’s alert, but found nothing.

Kevin’s family moved to Georgia in 1998. The case remains unsolved.
