Details of Disappearance:
Debra Blackburn disappeared from Indianapolis, Indiana on May 29, 1983. She left home and never came back. She called a friend from Arkansas on July 17th, saying she was heading back to Indiana, but no one heard from her after that.

Blackburn had a difficult life before she disappeared. She had problems with drugs and alcohol, and had been arrested several times for things like theft and prostitution. She often hung around truck stops, using a CB radio to talk to truck drivers, and even handed out cards saying she worked in “public relations.” While she’d left home before, this time was different – she was gone much longer than usual. She’d warned her mom, “If you don’t hear from me by Dad’s birthday, something’s wrong.” She didn’t call on her dad’s birthday, October 23, 1983.

After she vanished, there were rumors she died of cancer in Wisconsin, but these were never proven. Her parents have since passed away, but her siblings are still looking for answers about what happened to her.
