- Details of Disappearance:
- In September 2018, a woman named Johnson disappeared from her Billings, Montana home. She’d moved there four months earlier to live with her boyfriend, Gregory Scott Green. They were having problems, and she was sleeping in a separate bedroom. Johnson worked at Papa John’s and had no car of her own.
Johnson’s family hadn’t heard from her, which was unusual. She’d also stopped going to her methadone clinic and work. Green claimed she left, taking her belongings in two red suitcases. However, suspicions arose when Green’s story about his deceased wife (he said they were together when she died) was found to be a lie. He also abruptly left town after Johnson vanished, leaving many belongings behind.
Neighbor’s security footage showed Johnson entering her home on September 13th but never leaving. Footage also showed Green removing a large, heavy object wrapped in a red blanket from his garage the next day. He then started a small fire nearby.
Police found blood in Green’s truck, and phone records placed both Green and Johnson’s phones together in a rural area after her disappearance. Green also replaced the carpet in his bedroom, and a piece of the old carpet was missing. Johnson’s red suitcases were also gone. Green’s truck was spotted near the Yellowstone River, suggesting a possible body disposal site.
Green was arrested in Nevada and convicted of Johnson’s murder in 2020, despite his claim that the prosecution lacked evidence. He received a 100-year sentence but could be eligible for parole after 25 years. Johnson’s body has never been found, and investigations continue in both Montana and Nevada.
