- Three sisters, Leigh, Laura, and Karen, were taken away from their home in Middletown, Delaware by their dad and grandma on August 26, 2007. Their dad didn’t have legal custody of them. The girls were missing for almost two years until they were found safe in Nicaragua in March 2009. Their dad and grandma were caught and arrested. The dad had lied to the girls, telling them their mom had killed herself.
