On August 9, 2022, Thornton disappeared. He was last seen walking near Burnt Bridge Road in the Pendorff area of Jones County, Mississippi. His red and white pit bull, Big Head, was with him. Big Head was Thornton’s constant companion and is pictured here; his family says the dog is friendly.
