Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Linda wears eyeglasses. She has a small scar on the bridge of her nose, her ears are pierced and her upper front teeth protrude.

Details of Disappearance:

On September 20, 1977, Linda Hamilton’s husband, David, was found murdered in their Ohio home. He’d been shot three times. Linda and their car were gone. Their children were unharmed, having slept through the event. A stolen bicycle was found in their yard.

Their car was later discovered near a strip mine, with a man’s boot prints and a woman’s bare footprints leading away. The woman’s prints showed she was sometimes walking, sometimes dragged. Linda was nowhere to be found.

Police initially suspected Linda, but later believed she was a victim.

Edward Arthur Surratt, a serial killer already in prison for other crimes, confessed in 2007 to killing the Hamiltons and others. He said Linda’s body couldn’t be found. However, his confession was vague, and he hasn’t been charged with their deaths. Linda’s disappearance remains a mystery.
