- In January 1968, a young woman named Slawson disappeared while selling encyclopedias in Portland, Oregon. She lived in Aloha, Oregon, with her family. Serial killer Jerry Brudos later confessed to killing her. He said he lured her into his home, then murdered her and dumped her body in the Willamette River. Her body was never found.
Brudos was caught in 1969 and admitted to killing three other women. He was convicted of those murders and spent the rest of his life in prison, dying in 2006. Although Brudos confessed to killing Slawson, the charges were dropped because there wasn’t enough evidence. However, everyone believes she was a victim of foul play.
